Where it started

Born from an empathy project

NIPA began as a small initiative built around empathy, bringing together young people who rarely had the chance to meet across ethnic lines. Participants in that original project chose the name themselves — a Khmer word that reflects the network's grassroots nature and keeps ownership close to the community it serves.

What started as a single project has since grown into a standing network, focused on capacity building, strengthening relationships between its members, and contributing to a more inclusive and peaceful society.
